Profile your pieces of cane, and make sharp collars on them, with this stable and versatile profiler.
The profiler profiles the cane with a specific difference in thickness between the middle and the sides under an adjustable angle. There are 2 adjustable marking knives. One to make a marking line in the middle of the cane so the chips can come loose and as folding line for the further reed making process, and one to define the collars of the reed. The profiler has a unique collar cutting function. With this function you can make sharp collars on the profiled cane to an adjustable thickness.
The difference in thickness is defined by the cylinder set. We have cylinder sets for all types of bassoon cane and with a wide range of differences.. The angle is defined by the adjustable template set. The template set has an angle for the profile and a steeper angle for the tip. The position of the steeper angle can be set, and it can be activated or de-activated. It is mentioned to make a pre-fab of the tip so there is less cane to take away when you profile the tip with the tip profiler.
The profiler has a modular design which makes it possible to use the profiler for all types of bassoon cane. This means, if you want to use the profiler for more than one type of bassoon cane, you only need to buy an extra cylinder and/or template set.
