Automatic profiler

Do you have a perfect reed? We can copy it to a template so you can make it over and over again.

The profiler copies the 3 dimensional profile of the template, and the U or W shape of the end shape part, to the reed. The position of the profile and end shape on the reed are adjustable in several ways so you can perfectly personalize the scrape to your own preferences. The profiler has an unique compact design and a hard cover which makes it easy to travel with it.

The automatic drive controls the stroke and side movement which together form the scrape process. The stroke speed, big side step, small side step, and scrape width are programmable. The big side step is to pre-scrape the reed and the small side step is to make the final scrape cycle. The automatic drive is powered by an adaptor with USB cable or, for limited use, by the internal Li-ion battery. When the drive is powered by the adaptor, the battery is charged. Within minutes you can disconnect the drive from the profiler so you can use it manually.

You can adjust the length of the tip, the length of the scrape, the thickness of the tip, and the thickness of the end of the scrape. For the shape of the end of the scrape we have several U and W options. The thickness adjustment of the end of the scrape is unique and gives you perfect control on the way your reed plays and sounds. The template and end shape part can easily be changed for other types. We have templates for European oboe, American oboe, cor anglais, baroque oboe, etc.
