Viennese oboe, French oboe, and historical oboe instruments—as a pioneering institution, the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna has been offering three different oboe studies for many years.
Thus, it affirms its commitment—like the traditional Viennese orchestras—to the characteristic Viennese instrument, while simultaneously remaining open to exchange with its French colleagues and to the enrichment provided by historical performance practice.
It is only natural, then, to acknowledge this unique offering and place the oboe, in all its facets, at the heart of the 6th Oboe Days over three days.
